Mothers Hands
This series features life casts of hands in plaster, meticulously painted using the traditional polychrome technique, with rich oils or gilded in gold leaf. The work delves into the concept of art as a reliquary, exploring the sacredness of maternal touch and the intimate, enduring connection between mother and child. Through the fusion of classical craftsmanship and symbolic materiality, each piece becomes a reverent vessel, preserving the essence of love, care, and memory.

Animal Studies
This ongoing series explores the intersection of art and science, emphasising their shared foundations in observation, analysis, and the pursuit of understanding. Both disciplines require a deep, focused study of the subject—converging in their meticulous attention to form, detail, and process.
The paintings and taxidermy works alike are crafted using traditional materials and techniques. Each painting is created on a wood panel prepared with a ground of traditional gesso, following the age-old recipes used by icon painters. The imagery is rendered using a blend of oil and egg tempera.
The taxidermy pieces are similarly rooted in traditional craftsmanship. They are constructed on wire armatures bound with wood wool, featuring hand-carved balsa wood heads and finished with glass eyes.
While grounded in traditional methods, the works are brought into the contemporary moment through the use of vivid, modern accents of colour—creating a striking contrast that unites the series.
